Offboarding/leaving the lab
- You’re off! Oh, the places you’ll go! Before you say your hopefully fond farewells, there are a few pieces of housekeeping business to take care of, outside of your thesis/dissertation submission.
- Decide how you want people to contact you in the future (e.g. a personal or new institution address). Add that to your e-mail signature!
- Optional: Export your e-mails and other Google data (e.g. your calendar, drive) and reupload to another account to ensure you have long-term access to any information you may need. Jae usually keeps your SEOE e-mail active for two years, unless you do not want it. You can e-mail him to deactivate it at anytime ([email protected] or [email protected]).
- Clean out your desk so that a future student can use it. Let Katherine know about any files you’re leaving behind (e.g. graded labs, well organized and labeled paper copies of surveys).
- Return your keys to the main SEOE office (or Katherine).
- Update your info on the Our Alumni & Current Students! page!
